Pool-X-Perts
Pool Repair and Service You Can Trust
Licensing

Did you know that the State of Florida has seen fit to exempt residential pool service companies and individuals from any type of license what soever?  So not only is the service technician who is adding dangerous chemicals to your pool every week probably not licensed or certified in any way, the company owner is probably not licensed either.

Florida requires a license only if your pool guy performs any type of repair - such as - pump timer, plumbing repairs.  It may be worth asking your pool man to see his license before having him perform any type of repairs.  Make sure he shows you HIS pool contractor's license not that of a friend of his boss.  Hillsborough County requires an occupational license which requires only a payment of fee - this is not a license to perform repairs.

Why does your pool man need to be licensed?  Well, you probably want him to know what he is doing!  And you probably want him to be insured.

What is involved in State Licensing?  In order to qualify to take the state exam you must have at least four years' experience in the field and have completed course materials in pool construction, electrical codes, and business and accounting practices.  Upon passing the 8-hour exam, the applicant must demonstrate financial stability by having at least $25,000 in his corporate bank account and obtain business liability insurance.  Then, there is a requirement for 14 hours of continuing education every two years.

Is Pool-X-Perts licensed?  Of course.  Dan Coleman and Pool-X-Perts of Parkland, Inc., are both licensed with and meet all of the requirements to conduct business legally and safely in the State of Florida.  My license number is CPC1456963.

You can verify a license of any contractor at the state's website:  https://
